Position Requirements:
- 4-year degree (NQF8) in Environmental Management, Natural Sciences, Natural Resource Economics, or equivalent qualification
- 6+ years experience in relevant field post-qualification
- Knowledge of environmental legislation (NEMA, NEMBA, CITES) and government processes
- Proficiency in policy development, financial procedures, and report writing
- Strong leadership skills with ability to work independently and in teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Support growth of wildlife sector MSMEs through strategic partnerships
- Conduct scientific/economic research and coordinate sector reporting
- Develop and implement Biodiversity Economy monitoring systems
- Facilitate licensing support and wildlife conservation initiatives
- Manage progress tracking of implementation plans and strategies
Essential Competencies:
- Strategic planning and analytical capabilities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and stakeholder management
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
