About Us:

The Community Schemes Ombud Service (CSOS) operates under the Community Scheme Ombud Service Act (2011) to ensure effective governance and fair dispute resolution in community housing schemes across South Africa. Established in October 2016, we promote harmonious community living through regulatory oversight and conflict mediation services.

Position Overview:

Job Type: Full Time
Experience: 3-5 years in dispute resolution
Location: Centurion, Gauteng

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage Conciliation hearing documentation
  • Facilitate mediation sessions between conflicting parties
  • Draft legally binding Settlement Agreements
  • Manage case progression from conciliation to adjudication
  • Maintain accurate case records and reports
  • Ensure compliance with statutory timelines and procedures

Requirements:

  • LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification (NQF 7)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in formal dispute resolution
  • Strong understanding of CSOS Act and related legislation
  • Proven mediation and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent case management abilities
  • Proficiency in legal documentation preparation
  • Knowledge of community housing sector regulations
