Basic Requirements
- Matric certificate (Grade 12)
- South African citizenship
- Resident within Dr. NDZ Municipality boundaries
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Clean criminal record
- Physical fitness (2.4km run requirement)
- Medical clearance certificate required
- Availability for extended field work
Tertiary education is an added advantage
Core Responsibilities
- Respond to disaster incidents and support relief efforts
- Conduct community risk assessments
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills
- Deliver safety awareness programs
- Serve as municipal disaster management liaison
- Submit incident reports and attend training sessions
- Support fire services operations
Important Notes
- This is an unpaid volunteer position
- Successful candidates must provide own transport to operational sites
- Mandatory participation in physical assessments
- 24-month commitment required
