Communications Officer Opportunity: Department of Agriculture

Position Purpose:

Deliver strategic communication services to enhance organizational messaging and stakeholder engagement through various platforms and initiatives.

Core Requirements:

• 3-Year Diploma/Degree in Communications/Public Relations or equivalent
• 1+ year experience in communications or related field
• Valid Code B Driver’s License (accommodations for applicants with disabilities)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement communication campaigns across multiple channels
• Manage brand identity and corporate messaging
• Produce communication materials (brochures, publications, digital content)
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement through events and exhibitions
• Manage media relations and digital platforms

Essential Competencies:

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
• Strong writing/editing skills
• Digital media expertise (social/web content, photography)
• Event management capabilities

Remuneration:

R397,116 – R467,790 annual package (Level 8)
