Job Description: Code 14 Driver at Tharisa

Tharisa is a European-headquartered integrated resource group specializing in mining, processing, beneficiation, marketing, sales, and logistics. As a low-cost producer of PGMs and chrome concentrate, we operate with two distinct revenue streams from a single resource, sharing costs between commodities.

Key Responsibilities

• Record vehicle information accurately and ensure all documentation is legible and up-to-date.
• Follow all safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment, adhering to speed limits and other safety protocols.
• Conduct daily checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Transport staff and materials safely and efficiently to and from designated locations as instructed.
• Keep vehicles clean and well-maintained, including regular washing and interior cleaning.
• Load and unload materials securely, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
• Monitor and report any mechanical or electrical faults to supervisors or technicians.
• Perform errands such as shopping and other miscellaneous tasks as required.
• Maintain a travel log, recording distances traveled, travel time, and work hours.
• Report any accidents, injuries, or vehicle damage to supervisors immediately.
• Refuel vehicles and perform routine checks on oil and water levels.

Requirements

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Good traffic judgment and knowledge of vehicle mechanics.
• Valid driver’s license and Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Familiarity with local mine locations and preferred suppliers.
• Minimum of 5 years of driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of transportation laws and safety regulations.
