Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting and selling bread and confectionery products. Key duties include:
– Delivering products to customers (retail stores and traders).
– Taking orders and collecting payments.
– Acquiring new customers and increasing sales.

Minimum Requirements

– Grade 12 certification.
– Valid Driver’s License and Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
– Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
– Basic numeracy skills.
– Minimum 2 years of FMCG driving experience with a focus on delivery and sales.

Responsibilities

Vehicle Duties:
– Keep the vehicle clean and hygienic at all times.
– Wear prescribed PPE and ensure the driving compartment is safe.
– Conduct regular vehicle checks and report any issues.
– Follow road safety rules and company policies.

Stock and Loading:
– Verify loaded stock matches orders.
– Ensure safe loading to prevent road safety risks.
– Inspect stock quality and report issues.
– Assist with loading when required.

Van Assistants:
– Supervise and train van assistants.
– Ensure assistant is presentable and professional.
– Address performance issues promptly.

Sales and Customers:
– Provide excellent customer service.
– Increase sales by identifying new opportunities.
– Resolve customer complaints promptly.
– Report competitor activities.

Deliveries:
– Ensure accurate delivery of customer orders.
– Manage stock levels to meet customer needs.

Transactional Duties:
– Secure cash and company property.
– Complete all documentation accurately.
– Conduct cash-ups with supervisors.
– Investigate shortages promptly.

Key Responsibilities:
– Arrange stock replenishment when needed.
– Apologize and manage short deliveries.
– Secure next-day orders.
– Recover crates to minimize losses.
– Transport materials or personnel as required.

General Requirements:
– Work overtime, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
– Be on standby to cover driver absences.
– Maintain valid Driver’s Licence and PDP.
