Job Purpose

As a Close Protection Officer, you will be responsible for providing top-level security and protection to clients at potential risk. This includes assessing risks, planning and implementing security measures, and ensuring the client’s safety at all times. This role requires professionalism, discretion, physical fitness, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Matric/Grade 12
  • Grade A PSIRA accredited and registered
  • CPO Training and Certificates / Armed Response Training and Certificates
  • Previous experience in close protection, law enforcement, or military background
  • Valid Code 8/10 Driver’s License with a PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
  • Advanced Driver Training
  • Strong physical fitness and defensive tactics skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of security protocols and procedures
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess risks to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities
  • Develop and implement security plans to mitigate risks
  • Provide close protection to the client during travel, public appearances, and other activities
  • Maintain high situational awareness and respond quickly to potential threats or emergencies
  • Communicate effectively with team members and the client to coordinate security measures
  • Monitor and assess potential security threats
  • Ensure the client’s safety and well-being through vigilance and proactive measures
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information
  • Escort the client to locations, manage crowds, and control access to restricted areas
