Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Qualified Clinic Sister to join their team at the Rosebank location. This role involves managing and operating a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic situated within a pharmacy. The position falls under the scope of practice for a registered nursing practitioner.

Minimum Requirements

Requirement Essential Advantageous
Education Grade 12 – Matric, Tertiary qualification in General Nursing, Degree/Diploma in Midwifery Minimum 5 years practicing as a Primary Health Care Sister
Registration Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC), BHF registration required Patient Record System & CKS & Allegra
Experience 2-3 years as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister Experience in relevant Patient Record Systems
Computer Skills Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Performing Clinic Sister duties according to industry regulations and best practices.
  • Managing the clinic’s average “feet-per-hour” rate and setting objectives to enhance patient flow.
  • Ensuring all clinic services are available and operational during stated hours.
  • Keeping accurate records of patient details and following up on communication.
  • Processing claims accurately and promptly in accordance with industry standards.
  • Maintaining stock and equipment in good working condition.
  • Ensuring sufficient stock levels in the clinic according to business requirements.
  • Building and maintaining healthy relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and key community healthcare role players.

Competencies

Essential:

  • Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, and related fields.
  • Quarterly CPD training and in-service training with Dis-Chem.
  • Strong command of English, both written and oral.
  • Understanding of financial implications related to monthly targets.
  • Strong analytical skills related to clinic statistics and commission.
  • Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial flair, and integrity.
  • Ability to manage oneself and a team, with self-direction and motivation.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Advantageous:

  • Bilingualism.
  • Knowledge of business objectives.
  • Additional courses in Baby Immunisation, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management.

Special Conditions of Employment

  • Willing and able to work retail hours.
  • Physically fit and healthy to manage a Primary Health Care Clinic.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
  • South African citizenship.
  • Clear credit and criminal records.
