About Us:

The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), established under the Standards Act of 2008, serves as South Africa’s national authority for maintaining quality standards and promoting standardization across industries.

Role Purpose:

Process supplier invoices and manage payment operations to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely disbursements within financial guidelines.

Key Requirements:

  • 3 years’ experience in payment processing/creditors management
  • Proven expertise in financial reconciliations
  • Knowledge of VAT/tax compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

Core Responsibilities:

Payment Processing:

  • Verify invoice validity through 3-way matching system
  • Process local/foreign supplier payments (EFT, cheques)
  • Manage monthly creditor reconciliations
  • Handle payment remittances and account statements

Financial Control:

  • Execute monthly account reconciliations
  • Maintain audit-ready payment records
  • Support month-end/year-end closing processes

Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to SCM policies and VAT regulations
  • Maintain ISO-compliant quality standards

Stakeholder Management:

  • Resolve supplier payment queries
  • Collaborate with procurement and business units
