Position Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide risk management strategy development and implementation
  • Design integrated governance, compliance, and ethics frameworks
  • Oversaw risk monitoring systems and reporting mechanisms
  • Manage organizational risk profiling and mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with MFMA and municipal governance standards
  • Lead financial oversight and corporate governance practices
  • Manage cross-functional teams and stakeholder relationships

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant professional certification (IIRMSA/IIA preferred)
  • Proven track record in risk management implementation
  • Expert knowledge of local government legislation
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills
  • Experience managing complex organizational risks

Professional Requirements

  • Legal background in governance compliance (advantageous)
  • Comprehensive understanding of audit methodologies
  • Ability to perform under pressure with tight deadlines
