Position: Chief Engineer (Geologist), Scientific Manager

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Education Requirements: BSc (Hons)/BTech in Geology/Engineering Geology (MSc preferred)
  • Professional Registration: SACNASP (Professional Natural Scientist)
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years post-qualification experience
  • Location: Gauteng
  • Field: Engineering/Technical

Key Requirements:

  • Expertise in geological mapping and geophysical surveys
  • Proven experience in dolomite stability investigations
  • Strong background in geohazard assessment and geological reporting
  • Experience managing technical service providers and contractors
  • Ability to mentor junior staff members

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve engineering geological designs
  • Conduct quality control for infrastructure projects
  • Produce dolomite stability certificates and geological reports
  • Develop technical standards and practice manuals
  • Provide geoscience advisory services
  • Manage project execution plans for ground rehabilitation
