Professional Requirements
- Certified Internal Auditor designation (or equivalent)
- Current IIA membership
- Valid driver’s license
- Security clearance eligibility
Technical Expertise
- Expertise in audit methodologies including IT and forensic auditing
- Deep understanding of MFMA and municipal governance frameworks
- Financial management and risk assessment proficiency
- Advanced computer literacy
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategic audit plans aligned with municipal objectives
- Manage audit resources and external service providers
- Coordinate with Audit & Risk Committee and Council leadership
- Conduct complex investigations and special audits
- Implement quality assurance programs for audit processes
