The Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda), a subsidiary of South Africa’s Department of Small Business Development, provides non-financial support to small enterprises and cooperatives through 54 branches and 100+ incubation centers nationwide.

Position: Chief Audit Executive

Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development of Internal Audit strategy aligned with organizational objectives
  • Establish risk-based audit frameworks and governance policies
  • Design 3-year audit plans and oversee implementation timelines
  • Prepare reports for Board Committees and executive leadership
  • Manage audit team resources including budgets and workforce planning
  • Monitor compliance with Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) regulations

Requirements

Education:

  • NQF Level 8 qualification in Internal Audit/Business/Commerce
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) SA

Experience:

  • 10+ years in audit/risk management (5 years at senior management level)
  • Proven leadership in financial services auditing environments
  • Expertise in International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF)
