Chief Artisan Grade A (Technical Services) Jobs

Requirements:

• At least 10 years of experience after qualification as an Artisan or Artisan Foreman in the building sector. Experience in supervision and management is essential.
• Knowledge and experience in project management and building maintenance.
• A valid trade test certificate in Electrical, Millwright, Carpentry, or Plumbing.
• Skills to manage the workshop effectively, including staff, equipment, supplies, and stores. Work with supply chain and finance teams on procurement and resources.
• Plan and manage hospital maintenance and infrastructure projects. Ensure compliance with health and safety laws like OHSA, and standards for infection control, occupational health, and safety. Apply good quality and risk management practices.
• Help prepare technical specifications, business plans, reports, and submissions. Complete incident reports and provide monthly or ad hoc statistics. Handle other administrative tasks as needed.
• Follow all laws related to construction, electrical, plumbing, welding, plant rooms, and carpentry to keep operations smooth and compliant at Stikland Hospital.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with internal and external stakeholders. Good organization and problem-solving abilities for project management and meeting deadlines. Understanding of supply chain management (SCM) and finance rules, policies, and procedures. Skills in contract and project management, and preparing procurement documents. Proficient in MS Office.
• Valid Code B/EB driver’s license. Willing to do standby duties after hours, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required. Ready to perform Artisan or Artisan Foreman duties if needed. Must be physically fit for the job.

Salary:

Grade A: R 480,261 per annum, plus benefits (13th cheque, employer’s pension fund contribution, housing and medical aid allowance).
