Position Overview

  • Position: Chairperson of Risk Management Committee (1 Vacancy)
  • Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract
  • Location: Eastern Cape Province
  • Experience Required: Minimum 10 Years
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree + Postgraduate Qualification (Risk Management/Auditing)

Position Details

Remuneration:

  • Hourly rate based on National Treasury guidelines
  • Reimbursement of approved expenses

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience serving on Risk Management/Audit Committees
  • Expert knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, ISO31000, King IV, and COSO frameworks
  • Background in Public/Private Sector Risk Management, Finance, IT, or Anti-Fraud systems
  • Strong leadership experience in governance structures

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Oversight:

  • Guide departmental risk identification and assessment processes
  • Oversee implementation of Business Continuity Management systems
  • Advise on risk appetite framework and fraud prevention strategies

Committee Leadership:

  • Conduct quarterly committee meetings and special sessions
  • Coordinate with Audit Committee and Executive Authority
  • Ensure ethical decision-making and conflict resolution

Reporting:

  • Submit annual reports to Executive Authority
  • Provide quarterly updates to Director-General and Audit Committee
