Sports and Recreation Department – Swimming Pool Division

Employment Type: Full Time (Weekend/Public Holiday shifts required)

Minimum Requirements
- Matric Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Valid Lifeguard Certification with current annual retest
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Physical fitness to pass municipal skills test
Key Competencies
- Emergency response and crisis management skills
- Strong observational abilities and attention to detail
- Effective communication with diverse populations
- Knowledge of pool maintenance and water chemistry
- Ability to enforce safety regulations diplomatically
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor pool areas and conduct proactive safety patrols
- Perform rescues and emergency first aid interventions
- Maintain water quality through regular testing
- Operate pool filtration systems and cleaning equipment
- Conduct safety briefings and educational sessions
- Coordinate with emergency services when required
