Candidate Engineer (Two-Year Contract, Renewable for a Maximum of Three Years)

We are looking for a motivated Candidate Engineer to join our team on a two-year contract. This position can be renewed for up to three years. You will work on health facility projects, focusing on engineering design and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage health facility projects, including programme management and reporting.
  • Monitor and oversee project implementation using the Framework for Infrastructure Delivery and Procurement Management (FIDPM).
  • Engage with stakeholders and apply technical engineering skills.
  • Improve systems and reporting processes for better efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree (BEng/BSc Eng or equivalent).
  • Registration as a Candidate Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
  • Valid driver’s licence (Code B/EB). Willing to travel within the Western Cape and occasionally nationwide.
  • Computer skills in MS Office and Excel. Knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
  • Understanding of contract documentation, building design, and construction, especially for healthcare facilities.
  • Experience in designing and monitoring building services for healthcare or similar buildings.
  • Knowledge of risk analysis and mitigation.
  • Ability to prepare reports, submissions, and presentations in English.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of legal compliance and policy-making in engineering.

Salary: R 761 157 per year. Part of the package can be adjusted based on personal needs.
