Buyer – Supply Chain Management (1.5 Year Fixed Term Contract)

Position Summary

  • Contract Type: Fixed Term (18 months)
  • Required Education: National Diploma in Supply Chain Management (Purchasing/Sourcing focus)
  • Preferred Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree (Advantageous)
  • Experience Required: 2-3 years public sector procurement
  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license required

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute procurement processes compliant with National Treasury regulations
  • Manage quotation processes and purchase order administration
  • Oversee international procurement and contract management
  • Provide strategic procurement guidance to stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate reporting and financial administration
  • Support inventory management when required

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven public sector procurement experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of PFMA regulations
  • Expertise in SCM policies and procedures
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Professional registration with accounting body (Advantageous)
