Buyer – 4 Year Fixed Term Contract

Position Overview:
We seek a qualified Buyer to manage procurement processes in compliance with National Treasury regulations and ARC policies. This contract position requires strong organizational skills and understanding of public sector procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process procurement transactions following National Treasury Act and ARC guidelines
- Manage RFQ processes for contracts ranging from R2,000 to R500,000+
- Coordinate capital item procurement within specified timelines
- Maintain and expand supplier database using CSD portal
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities and irregularities
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders and suppliers
- Attend monthly finance and supply chain meetings
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Supply Chain Management/Purchasing
- 2-3 years’ experience in public sector procurement
- Working knowledge of PFMA and PPPFA legislation
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX preferred)
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
