Job Purpose
To create and promote the Enterprise Architecture value chain, operating model, and frameworks within the organization’s strategy. Manage systems across various functional areas, define needs, and oversee IT investments that meet business requirements. Continuously improve processes and add value to the organization’s chain to reduce costs and increase profitability. This role ensures horizontal alignment, implementation, and adoption across the enterprise.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualification & Experience Required
- Honours / Postgraduate Diploma (NQF 8) in Information Technology, Informatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Finance, plus 10 to 12 years’ experience in an Information Technology environment, including 3-4 years at specialist level; OR
- Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Information Technology, Informatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Finance, plus 12 to 15 years’ experience in an Information Technology environment, including 3-4 years at senior specialist level.
Minimum Functional Requirements
- Senior-level experience in Information Technology Management.
- Advanced experience in Business/Systems Analysis.
- Understanding of the ITIL framework, deployment of emerging technologies (including Cloud technology), and IT Enterprise Architecture.
- Knowledge of IT Governance, Business, IT Applications, and ICT Solutions.

Process
- Develop tactical strategies and delivery plans to support functional objectives in partnership with leadership.
- Direct, control, coordinate, and optimize budgeted resources to meet objectives and deliver results.
- Ensure development and implementation of practices aligned with operational policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve functions and systems in line with national, regional, and organizational changes.
- Plan work outputs, integrate activities, and set priorities, standards, and procedures for tactical excellence.
- Proactively identify interconnected problems, assess impacts, and develop best-fit alternatives and solutions.

- Lead analysis, design, and facilitation to develop, maintain, and govern Enterprise Architecture across business, information, technical, and solutions viewpoints.
- Promote the vision and adoption of common architecture principles through enterprise-wide governance.
- Establish and maintain formal enterprise architectures for infrastructure platforms and deliver solutions to key business issues.
- Ensure adoption of common architecture principles and continuity across integration projects through standards enforcement.
- Provide business process architecture and design capabilities.
- Establish, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide architecture standards, procedures, and policies.
- Illustrate alignment between strategic goals and key business decisions on products, services, partners, organization, capabilities, and IT initiatives.
- Enable integration of Enterprise Architecture processes with related processes.
- Lead the Enterprise Architecture function in analyzing, designing, planning, and implementing enterprise analysis to execute business strategies.
- Oversee assistance to businesses in structuring IT projects and policies to achieve results and stay ahead of industry trends using architecture principles.
Governance
- Implement governance, risk, and compliance policies to manage exposure and liability.
- Manage and advise on the translation and application of policies in specific functional areas.
People
- Create a positive work climate and culture to energize employees, minimize disruptions, and maximize productivity.
- Develop and implement people capacity plans aligned with delivery targets and in partnership with specialized areas.
- Plan and enhance organizational efficiency by addressing development needs and providing tools for staff.
