BDO Wave ACCA Assistant Manager – Cape Town (Cape Town CBD)

Position Overview:

Join our Advisory Practice team supporting BDO UK audits while based in Cape Town. This role manages a team overseeing audit quality and professional development of ACCA trainees, ensuring compliance with international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and quality-control audit working papers from trainees
  • Provide technical guidance on audit processes and accounting standards
  • Develop training programs and conduct skills development sessions
  • Monitor trainee progress and performance metrics
  • Coordinate feedback between UK audit teams and local trainees
  • Manage workflow to meet strict international deadlines
  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions
  • Participate in recruitment and talent development initiatives

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • CA(SA) qualification with SAICA registration (or eligibility)
  • Comprehensive understanding of IFRS and ISA standards

Key Competencies:

  • Excellent English communication (written and spoken)
  • Proven team leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Strong project management and deadline adherence
  • Detail-oriented quality assurance approach
  • Adaptability to UK working hours when required
