BDO Wave ACCA Assistant Manager – Cape Town (Cape Town CBD)
Position Overview:
Join our Advisory Practice team supporting BDO UK audits while based in Cape Town. This role manages a team overseeing audit quality and professional development of ACCA trainees, ensuring compliance with international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and quality-control audit working papers from trainees
- Provide technical guidance on audit processes and accounting standards
- Develop training programs and conduct skills development sessions
- Monitor trainee progress and performance metrics
- Coordinate feedback between UK audit teams and local trainees
- Manage workflow to meet strict international deadlines
- Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions
- Participate in recruitment and talent development initiatives
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- CA(SA) qualification with SAICA registration (or eligibility)
- Comprehensive understanding of IFRS and ISA standards
Key Competencies:
- Excellent English communication (written and spoken)
- Proven team leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Strong project management and deadline adherence
- Detail-oriented quality assurance approach
- Adaptability to UK working hours when required
- Effective cross-cultural relationship building
