Auditor: Level 1 (Investigative) – South African Revenue Service (SARS)

Position Overview:

SARS seeks two qualified professionals to conduct compliance audits and forensic financial investigations. Successful candidates will perform risk-based audits across multiple tax types while ensuring adherence to national legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute end-to-end audit processes and resolve related queries
  • Identify tax compliance risks and regulatory violations
  • Prepare submissions for penalty committees
  • Maintain updated knowledge of tax legislation and audit methodologies
  • Collaborate with teams to improve service delivery

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Option 1: National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF6) in Forensic Investigations + 2-3 years’ tax audit experience
  • Option 2: Matric Certificate + 5 years’ relevant experience (1-2 years at knowledge worker level)
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma preferred
