Auditor: Level 1 (Investigative) – South African Revenue Service (SARS)
Position Overview:
SARS seeks two qualified professionals to conduct compliance audits and forensic financial investigations. Successful candidates will perform risk-based audits across multiple tax types while ensuring adherence to national legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute end-to-end audit processes and resolve related queries
- Identify tax compliance risks and regulatory violations
- Prepare submissions for penalty committees
- Maintain updated knowledge of tax legislation and audit methodologies
- Collaborate with teams to improve service delivery
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Option 1: National Diploma/Advanced Certificate (NQF6) in Forensic Investigations + 2-3 years’ tax audit experience
- Option 2: Matric Certificate + 5 years’ relevant experience (1-2 years at knowledge worker level)
- Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma preferred
