Assistant Surveyor (Contract) – North West

Position Summary:

Support survey teams in field operations and data management for construction/mining projects. 5-year contract position based in North West Province.

Key Details:

  • Job Type: Contract
  • Education: National Diploma/B.Tech in Surveying
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years surveying experience
  • Preferred Certification: SAGC Registration (Advantageous)

Core Responsibilities:

Field Operations

  • Conduct topographic and construction surveys using GPS/total stations
  • Establish reference points and markers per project specifications

Data Management

  • Process survey data using Modelmaker software
  • Maintain accurate field records and elevation data
  • Prepare survey reports and preliminary drawings

Site Coordination

  • Verify site dimensions against design plans
  • Collaborate with engineering/construction teams

Compliance & Safety

  • Maintain equipment calibration standards
  • Adhere to OHSA/MHSA regulations
  • Implement company safety protocols

Required Technical Competencies:

  • GPS Systems
  • Digital Levels & Robotic Total Stations
  • Model Maker Software
  • MS Office Suite
  • Plan/Drawing Interpretation
