Assistant Store Manager – Volpes – Pretoria Jobs

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Store Manager in running daily store operations smoothly and profitably.
• Lead the team by example to drive sales and meet monthly targets.
• Monitor customer service to ensure every customer is greeted, helped quickly, and leaves happy.
• Manage stock by overseeing receiving, restocking, and accurate counts.
• Spot and report stock losses or errors, and take steps to fix them.
• Handle merchandising according to Volpes brand standards and promotions.
• Keep the store clean and well-maintained.
• Oversee end-of-day tasks like cash handling, reports, petty cash, and staff schedules.
• Plan staff rosters, track attendance, and manage leave.
• Train and coach staff to improve their skills and team performance.
• Resolve customer questions, complaints, and after-sales needs effectively.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety rules.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• At least 3-5 years in retail.
• 2-3 years in management or supervision.
• Strong experience in sales, merchandising, and stock management.
• Knowledge of Industrial Relations (IR) is required.
• A qualification in Retail or Business Management is a plus.
