Job Description

An Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager and takes over responsibilities when needed. You will help maintain high standards in housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, staff discipline, and security.

Responsibilities

  • Handle banking of daily money
  • Relieve the Store Manager during absences
  • Ensure company standards for housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security are met
  • Follow all company procedures to ensure compliance
  • Assist in managing staff
  • Implement front-end controls
  • Oversee the cash office operations
  • Minimize stock loss
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Introduce sales initiatives to meet store targets

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Mathematics is an advantage) or NQF Level 4
  • Previous experience in managing people
  • Previous experience managing a department
  • Clothing retail experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong communication skills
