Job Description

An Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager when they are away. They help maintain company standards for housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security.

Responsibilities

  • Bank money
  • Relieve the store manager
  • Maintain company standards for housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security
  • Ensure all company procedures are followed
  • Assist the store manager in managing staff
  • Ensure front-end controls are in place
  • Oversee the cash office
  • Minimize stock loss
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Introduce sales initiatives to meet store targets

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Mathematics is an advantage) or NQF Level 4
  • Previous experience managing people
  • Previous experience managing a department
  • Previous clothing retail experience is highly advantageous
