Job Description

An Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager and takes over duties when needed. This role involves keeping store standards high in areas like cleanliness, product display, loss prevention, staff discipline, and security.

Responsibilities

  • Handle banking of money.
  • Step in for the store manager when absent.
  • Keep up company standards for housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security.
  • Make sure all company procedures are followed.
  • Help the store manager with staff management.
  • Ensure front-end controls are in place.
  • Oversee the cash office.
  • Minimize stock loss.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Introduce sales ideas to meet store targets.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Mathematics is an advantage) or NQF Level 4.
  • Previous experience managing people.
  • Previous experience managing a department.
  • Previous clothing retail experience is highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong admin skills.
  • Good decision-making ability.
