Job Description

An Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager and takes over responsibilities in their absence. The role involves upholding company standards in housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, staff discipline, and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle banking of money
  • Step in for the store manager when needed
  • Upkeep company standards in housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, discipline, and security
  • Ensure all company procedures are followed
  • Support the store manager in staff management
  • Implement front-end controls
  • Oversee cash office operations
  • Minimize stock loss
  • Drive customer service excellence
  • Launch sales initiatives to meet store targets

Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Mathematics is an advantage) or NQF Level 4
  • Previous experience in managing people
  • Previous experience managing a department
  • Clothing retail experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong communication skills
