Job Description

An Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager and takes over responsibilities when needed. You will help maintain high standards in housekeeping, merchandising, stock control, staff discipline, and store security.

Responsibilities

• Handle banking of daily sales.
• Act as Store Manager in their absence.
• Ensure the store meets company standards for cleanliness, product display, stock loss prevention, discipline, and security.
• Follow all company procedures to ensure compliance.
• Support the Store Manager in leading and managing staff.
• Implement front-end controls for smooth operations.
• Oversee cash office activities.
• Minimize stock loss through careful monitoring.
• Promote customer service excellence.
• Introduce sales initiatives to help meet store targets.

Qualifications and Skills

• Matric / Grade 12 (Mathematics is an advantage) or NQF Level 4.
• Experience in managing people.
• Experience in managing a department.
• Clothing retail experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong administrative skills.
• Ability to make decisions.
• Good organizational skills.
