Job Description

Support and assist the store manager in running the daily operations of an Mr Price Money Cellular store. Ensure that store targets, overall objectives, and customer service standards are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities

Stock Management:

  • Make sure stock is received accurately and unpacked to fill the sales floor.
  • Track and manage stock levels using standard processes like stock counts, audits, and loss prevention plans to reduce risks and keep enough stock available.
  • Oversee the stockroom to maintain high housekeeping standards.
  • Help approve write-offs, breakages, recalls, out-of-box failures, cellular repairs, and returns.

Sales Growth & Profitability:

  • Review sales and profitability reports to work with management on action plans that boost sales, improve performance, and control store costs.
  • Monitor in-store product performance and share feedback with the support center to increase sales.
  • Stay informed about new ways to grow sales and build brand awareness, such as in-store marketing or checking competitors.
  • Promote credit, insurance, mobile, and cellular services to meet budget goals.

Risk Management:

  • Help the store manager perform compliance checks using processes like admin reviews, store audits, visual checks, reports, health and safety standards, hanger counts, and security measures to follow all policies and procedures.

Customer Experience Management:

  • Implement customer experience processes, including business instructions, markdowns, pricing updates, promotions, visual standards, feedback, and housekeeping, to achieve high customer service levels.

Leadership & Development:

  • Lead the team to meet store KPIs and follow the company’s operational strategy while upholding company values.
  • Identify training, coaching, and development needs, with a focus on talent management and succession planning.
  • Handle recruitment, performance management, and administration according to company policies.

Qualifications

  • NQF level 4 (Grade 12) or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience in retail (management experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge of sales and service management.
  • Budgeting skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Understanding of the retail trade.
  • Knowledge of brand, customer service, cellular, mobile, new accounts, and insurance products.
