Introduction

Are you passionate about retail and service excellence? Do you have the confidence to drive sales and build customer loyalty to give the brand a competitive edge? An exciting opportunity exists for an Assistant Store Manager. The successful candidate will report to the Store Manager.

Job Purpose

To support the Store Manager in running the store efficiently and delivering excellent service. This includes driving sales and building customer loyalty to meet sales, profit, and compliance targets, creating a competitive advantage for the brand.

Job Objectives

  • Help achieve the store’s financial goals by maximizing sales through promotions, cross-selling, up-selling, and excellent customer service across the team.
  • Manage all store operations efficiently, including expenses, stock, shrinkage, housekeeping, and administration.
  • Execute in-store visual merchandising to meet presentation and promotional standards, keeping the store’s appearance aligned with the brand image.
  • Support the Store Manager in motivating and directing staff to meet targets and manage the team when the manager is absent.
  • Assist in creating daily work schedules according to the group’s labour policy to ensure all departments are properly staffed.
  • Implement customer service initiatives that create a great experience, build loyalty, and meet club card targets.
  • Handle all administrative tasks efficiently, including time and attendance records and employee documentation for HR.
  • Promote the brand as the customer’s top choice for health and beauty by living the company’s values.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Grade 12 (at least 50% in Maths and English).
  • Relevant Retail or Business Management qualification (for external applicants).
  • Degree in Retail or Business Management (desirable).
  • At least 1 year in an assistant store management role in retail or FMCG, or completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
  • Experience in financial management, including budgets, profit and loss statements, and financial ratios.
