Area of Focus Key Duties
Sales and Promotion Launching promotional activities and driving excellence in customer care, cross-selling and up-selling to maximise sales
Store Operation Oversee daily operations, including administrative tasks, general cleanliness, management of stock and expenses, and precautionary measures to minimise shrinkage

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum requirement: Grade 12 (a score of at least 50% in both Maths and English)
  • Preferred: Relevant Retail/Business Management qualification
  • At least 1-year experience in an assistant store management role within a FMCG store operations environment or successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme
  • Experience in financial management including handling budgets, profit and loss statements, and financial ratios

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

  • Understanding and application of financial management principles
  • Insight of merchandising and promotions principles in a retail/FMCG environment
  • Familiarity with stock, cost, risk and compliance management procedures
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of labour legislations and industrial relations practices
  • Experience in managing people effectively
  • Competency-based interviewing skills
  • Numeracy skills
