Description
Senwes Grainlink is looking for an Assistant Silo Manager. In this role, you will mainly handle and store grain to ensure high quality and support sustainable financial results.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the intake, storage, and dispatch of grain.
- Grade grain according to legal requirements.
- Ensure proper offloading and quality checks for grain.
- Oversee grain loading and sample collection.
- Conduct inspections to meet legal standards.
- Help plan and allocate storage space based on crop estimates.
- Perform pre-cleaning, drying, aeration, and fumigation of grain.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Identify ways to add value within grading standards.
- Optimize grain processes to meet value-adding goals and reduce risks.
- Handle and resolve client questions.
- Advise clients on available transactions and industry trends.
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate.
- All relevant grading and fumigation courses.
- Certificate in Management or Leadership.
- Three years’ experience in the grain industry, with knowledge of:
- Crop estimates
- Testing and grading of grains
- Fumigation
- Aeration
- Grain marketing and management
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
