- Matric certificate
- At least 2-3 years of restaurant management experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Deep knowledge of restaurant operations
- Preferred: More than 3 years of restaurant management experience
- Preferred: Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
Financial Management
- Handle financial administration correctly and effectively according to Nando’s policies and procedures each day.
- Help control costs and achieve target gross profit margins (including stock control, waste management, and preventing theft).
- Take actions to improve key business indicators daily (such as sales year-on-year, actual vs. budget, gross profit, average ticket, customer count, menu mix, day parts, complaints, labor turnover, and payroll vs. turnover).
- Monitor performance against daily targets (turnover, average ticket, customer count).
Operational Management
- Manage stock control efficiently for the restaurant each day.
- Conduct daily checks for health and safety, repairs, maintenance, cleaning, and hygiene, and report issues to the Restaurant Manager.
- Help create and implement plans to improve audit results for internal and external checks.
- Communicate and ensure compliance with Nando’s operational standards and requirements.
People Management
- Help develop and monitor weekly rosters to meet business needs and ensure enough staff. Follow opening and closing procedures.
- Assist with recruiting, inducting, and training new staff according to Nando’s policies to support the business.
- Complete and review the attendance register.
- Support the Restaurant Manager in following the disciplinary code.
- Report poor performance when needed and give ongoing feedback to staff and the Restaurant Manager.
- Ensure all staff complete relevant training materials and procedures regularly.
Marketing Management
- Help communicate and carry out national, regional, and local marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Handle customer complaints according to Nando’s policies and procedures.
- Assist in creating plans to improve mystery shopper results.
- Support the local marketing plan to boost sales and grow the customer base.
- Take on the Restaurant Manager’s duties when they are away.
