Assistant Resident Engineer – Roads & Transportation

Position Overview:
Location: Mahikeng, North West
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: Mid-Senior (5+ years)
Core Responsibilities:
- Support site supervision for road construction projects under Resident Engineer guidance
- Monitor compliance with technical specifications and quality standards
- Conduct daily site inspections and document progress
- Coordinate between contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Prepare technical reports aligned with provincial compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate project documentation for audit purposes
- Implement health, safety, and environmental protocols
- Assist with contract administration and payment certification processes
Essential Qualifications:
- National Diploma/BTech or BSc in Civil Engineering
- ECSA registration (Candidate Engineer/Technologist)
- 5+ years’ experience in road construction supervision
- Working knowledge of CIDB regulations and SANS standards
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with government infrastructure projects
- Construction project management certification
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D or similar tools
- Budget monitoring and resource planning experience
