Assistant Manager Nursing (PNA7): Night Duty

Requirements:

  • Basic qualification accredited by the South African Nursing Council (SANC) in terms of Government Notice R425, such as a Diploma or Degree in Nursing, or an equivalent that allows registration with SANC as a professional nurse.
  • A minimum of 8 years appropriate and recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
  • A Diploma or Degree in Nursing Administration or Health Services Management. At least 3 years of the experience mentioned above must be at a management level.
  • Strong leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, basic computer skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Solid knowledge of national core standards, the Ideal Health Facility Realisation and Maintenance programme, nursing strategy, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), labour relations, and other relevant legislation.

Duties:

  • Delegate, supervise, and coordinate the provision of effective and efficient patient care through proper nursing practices. Initiate and participate in health promotion activities to ensure clear communication of relevant, accurate, and comprehensive health information.
  • Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with nursing staff and other stakeholders, including interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teamwork. Participate in the analysis, formulation, and implementation of nursing guidelines, practices, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage the effective use and supervision of human, financial, and material resources. Coordinate training and research. Maintain professional growth, ethical standards, and the development of self and subordinates.
