We are seeking a hands-on, energetic, and experienced Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to lead and inspire a dynamic team of approximately 50 staff members. This is a great opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Please note: This position is only open to South African citizens. Shift work is required, with a strong focus on evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations across restaurants, bars, and room service (where applicable).
  • Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and food safety.
  • Actively support staff on the floor during peak service periods.

Team Management

  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Motivate and mentor staff to achieve operational excellence.
  • Manage staffing levels to meet service and financial goals.

Customer Experience

  • Ensure exceptional guest service from arrival to departure.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Continuously seek feedback and implement improvements.

Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and implement development plans.
  • Conduct regular coaching and performance reviews.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure adherence to all food and beverage policies, health regulations, and liquor laws.
  • Monitor and maintain sanitation and safety standards.

Financial Oversight

  • Assist with budgeting, purchasing, and invoice management.
  • Drive profitability through efficient operations and cost control.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED with minimum 3 years’ experience in food & beverage, culinary, or hospitality management. OR
  • 2-year diploma/degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, or related field with minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
