About the Role
Join our Financial Accounting Unit to support transparent financial operations and reporting for a leading research institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare annual financial statements and project-specific financial reports
- Coordinate budget preparation and analyze financial variances
- Maintain general ledger system integrity and reporting quality
- Manage fixed assets, inventory accounting, and VAT compliance
- Support month-end/year-end closure and audit processes
- Prepare statutory returns for SARB and other regulatory bodies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Financial Accounting/Auditing
- 6+ years’ financial accounting experience with 2 years supervisory role
- Proven track record in:
- Financial statement preparation
- VAT compliance and SARS interactions
- ERP system management
- External audit coordination
- Advanced Excel skills with reconciliation expertise
- Higher education financial reporting experience preferred
