Key Position Details

  • Required Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Financial Accounting/Auditing
  • Experience Needed: 6+ years in financial accounting & reporting
  • Supervisory Experience: Minimum 2 years
  • Specialization: Finance/Accounting/Audit

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepare annual financial statements and project-specific financial reports
  • Manage budget preparation, analysis, and variance investigations
  • Oversee general ledger maintenance and financial data integrity
  • Administer fixed assets, inventory accounting, and VAT compliance
  • Coordinate internal/external audits and statutory reporting
  • Handle regulatory submissions (SA Reserve Bank, DHET, Stats SA)

Essential Requirements

  • Proven track record in financial statement preparation and reconciliation
  • Advanced Excel skills and accounting system proficiency
  • Thorough knowledge of VAT regulations and SARS compliance
  • Experience with fund accounting in higher education (preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
