Gold One International Limited is a mining group focused on developing and mining low-risk, high-margin precious metal resources in various locations. The company’s flagship Modder East gold mine started from exploration and is now in production. It is the only new mine built in South Africa’s history in recent years.

Qualifying Criteria:

  • Grade 10, 11, or 12, or equivalent qualification
  • N2 in Electrical Engineering studies is an advantage
  • 1-2 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering in a mining or industrial environment is essential
  • Good proficiency in English and any other official South African language
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Studying towards an Electrical Trade qualification is a plus
  • South African citizenship
  • Clear criminal record

Responsibilities:

  • Work shifts on a rotating schedule
  • Assist artisans by supporting their tasks, carrying tools, and handling equipment
  • Maintain and safely store tools and equipment
  • Disassemble and reassemble electrical parts using hand tools
  • Prepare conduit ends, connect couplings, and install support brackets with hand tools
  • Inspect electrical units for issues like loose connections or damaged insulation, and fix them using hand tools
  • Keep your work area clean and safe according to mine standards and procedures
  • Follow all Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) rules and Gold One’s safety principle: “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely.”
