Position Overview:
The Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria seeks an experienced professional to provide operational leadership and support strategic objectives in human rights advocacy across Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Centre leadership in staff management and departmental operations
- Oversee project lifecycle management from planning to reporting
- Lead fundraising initiatives and donor relations
- Represent the Centre at national and international forums
- Develop strategic partnerships to advance human rights initiatives
- Contribute to academic programs through teaching and mentorship
Essential Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Human Rights Law or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in:
- Project design and proposal development
- Large-scale program coordination (€500k+ budgets)
- Donor relations and grant management
- Stakeholder engagement across Africa
- Proven success in institution-building and network development
