Assistant Director: Management Accounting (Ref: DEDAT 39/2025)

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Contract Type: Full-Time Permanent
Salary Range: R468,459 – R561,894 per annum

Role Purpose

Lead financial oversight for departmental funds administration and expenditure management within the Economic Development and Tourism portfolio.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Accounting or Economics
  • 3+ years financial management experience
  • Valid driver’s license (Code B)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage fiscal operations for assigned programs
  • Oversee budget execution and financial reporting
  • Coordinate interdepartmental financial processes
  • Ensure compliance with PFMA and Treasury regulations

Required Skills

  • Expertise in government financial systems (BAS, SAP)
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Strong numerical analysis capabilities
  • Advanced written/verbal communication skills
