Assistant Director: Internal Control and Compliance (Ref No: CFO02/2026)

Requirements

  • National Diploma (NQF6) in Auditing, Accounting, Financial Management, or a related qualification with accounting as the main subject.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in internal control, Supply Chain Management, Auditing, Financial Management, or a related area.

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of laws and rules for government finance and supply chain management, including how to create, apply, and check related policies and procedures in government.
  • Familiarity with key regulations like the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury regulations, Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Act, and Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act (PPPFA).
  • Experience with systems like BAS, LOGIS, and PERSAL is a plus.
  • Skills to set up and manage financial systems and controls.

Skills

  • Ability to keep information confidential and handle work in busy, high-pressure settings.
  • Strong interpersonal, administrative, and managerial skills, plus good verbal and written communication.
  • Skill in understanding and assessing information, managing conflicts, creating and reviewing policies, and handling finances.
  • Knowledge of managing information and leading change.
  • Able to work alone or in a team, and manage stress under pressure.
