Position: Assistant Director: Financial Accounting

The Department of Water and Sanitation oversees South Africa’s water resources management and works to ensure universal access to clean water and sanitation services.

Core Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Financial Management
• 3+ years supervisory experience in financial accounting
• Valid driver’s license

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee payment verification and approval processes
• Manage budget allocations and financial commitments
• Prepare quarterly/annual financial statements
• Supervise payroll reconciliations and statutory returns
• Lead team performance management (PMDS system)

Position Details:

Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
Experience Level: Mid-Senior (3+ years)
