Assistant Director Finance

Requirements:

  • A relevant NQF level 7 qualification, such as a bachelor’s degree, advanced diploma, or B Tech in Financial Accounting or Financial Management, plus 3 years of supervisory experience in Finance.
  • Computer literacy. A valid driver’s license. Knowledge of key laws and systems, including the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, BAS, and SAP.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Good leadership abilities. Skills to plan, organize, and coordinate unit activities. Ability to work under pressure and lead a team.

Duties:

  • Develop the Finance Department’s operational plan and present quarterly reviews. Monitor the budget and control spending effectively.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports. Conduct monthly expenditure reconciliations. Clear web cycles (IMS). Manage accruals and ensure suppliers are paid within 30 days.
  • Handle supplier queries. Assist with budget preparation and allocation. Train staff on finance topics. Supervise and mentor team members. Work with auditors and create action plans to improve controls and address audit findings.
  • Manage risks effectively. Evaluate subordinate performance quarterly and annually.
