Requirements:
- A Grade 12 certificate and a relevant degree or National Diploma (NQF level 7) in Financial Accounting or Financial Management, recognized by SAQA.
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience at a supervisory level in financial accounting or management. In-depth knowledge of government banking procedures, Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, Safety Net, Persal, financial delegations, departmental policies and procedures, Basic Accounting System (BAS), suspense/control accounts, personnel staff code, and PSCBC Resolution 3 of 1999. Strong communication (verbal and written), management, analytical, financial auditing, problem-solving, and computer skills (MS Office package).
- An additional qualification in supply chain management is an advantage.
Duties:
- Prepare complete and accurate quarterly, interim, and annual financial statements. Coordinate requests for information (RFI), communicate audit findings, and liaise with the Auditor General of South Africa (AGSA).
- Manage the accurate processing of financial transactions for salaries and travel (S & T) claims. Monitor payroll certification and ensure compliance with National Treasury deadlines.
- Ensure complete and accurate processing of sundry payments, efficient bookkeeping and banking, effective management of debtors, and loss control (including irregular, fruitless, wasteful, and unauthorized expenditure).
- Manage personnel and risk, prepare reports for the CEO including quarterly reviews, raise revenue, and control expenditure within the allocated budget.
