Requirements:

  • An appropriate SAQA-recognized NQF level 6 qualification in Economics, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, or Business Administration, plus at least three years of experience in economic empowerment or enterprise development.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of the B-BBEE Act, B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice, Sector Charters, Employment Equity Act, and provincial and national macro-economic policies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Duties:

  • Support the empowerment of black-owned companies in the Nkangala District.
  • Connect black-owned companies with funding support agencies across the country.
  • Monitor the application of B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice and Sector Codes in all sectors of the provincial economy.
  • Encourage procurement from B-BBEE-compliant businesses by government and the private sector.
  • Assist with the work of the Provincial B-BBEE Advisory Council.
  • Help build a database of B-BBEE-compliant companies in the district.
  • Provide advice on B-BBEE to stakeholders in the private and public sectors.
  • Supervise staff in the unit, manage performance, and oversee operations in the district.
