About the Role
The North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management seeks a proactive leader to coordinate crime prevention initiatives and strengthen community safety programs across districts.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification
- 3-year National Diploma/Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience in crime prevention or security environment
- 2 years supervisory experience required
- Valid Code EB (08) Driver’s License
Key Knowledge Areas:
- National Crime Prevention Strategy
- SAPS Act and Civilian Secretariat Act
- Public Service regulations & PFMA
- Community safety management principles
Essential Skills:
- Community mobilization and partnership building
- Program coordination and project management
- Data analysis and report writing
- Conflict resolution and decision-making
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead community crime prevention initiatives and awareness programs
- Develop public-private partnerships for enhanced safety measures
- Strengthen police-community relations
- Implement provincial crime prevention strategies
- Oversee district safety programs and team performance
