Assistant Director: Crime Prevention

Salary: R582,444.00 per annum (Salary Level 10)

Location: Dr Kenneth Kauda & Bojanala Districts, North West Province

About the Role

The North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management seeks a proactive leader to coordinate crime prevention initiatives and strengthen community safety programs across districts.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification
  • 3-year National Diploma/Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in crime prevention or security environment
  • 2 years supervisory experience required
  • Valid Code EB (08) Driver’s License

Key Knowledge Areas:

  • National Crime Prevention Strategy
  • SAPS Act and Civilian Secretariat Act
  • Public Service regulations & PFMA
  • Community safety management principles

Essential Skills:

  • Community mobilization and partnership building
  • Program coordination and project management
  • Data analysis and report writing
  • Conflict resolution and decision-making
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead community crime prevention initiatives and awareness programs
  • Develop public-private partnerships for enhanced safety measures
  • Strengthen police-community relations
  • Implement provincial crime prevention strategies
  • Oversee district safety programs and team performance
