Position Details:

- Education: National Diploma/Bachelor’s in Language Practice, Communications, Journalism or related field (NQF 6/7)
- Experience: 5+ years in language/editorial services (3+ years supervisory)
- Location: Gauteng
- Department: Media & Communications
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in published/electronic content creation
- Thorough knowledge of South African government communications strategies
- Expertise in Official Languages Act implementation
- Strong editorial skills with published writing samples
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead development and implementation of departmental language policies
- Manage translation services for official documents
- Create compelling content for publications, speeches, and digital platforms
- Oversee sign language interpretation services for major events
- Edit high-level policy documents and public communications
- Conduct research to inform strategic messaging
- Train staff on editorial standards and style guidelines
