Job Summary
We are recruiting for an Assistant Catering Manager to oversee the overall management, planning, and control of functions and kitchen operations. You will maintain 5-star standards set by the company and the client while staying within agreed budgetary limits.
Minimum Requirements

- Culinary qualification is advantageous.
- Experience as an Assistant Catering Manager in a healthcare environment.
- Entrepreneurial skills.
- Strong organizing and planning abilities.
- Marketing and promotion skills.
- Interpersonal skills: Leadership and relationship building.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Customer service oriented.
- Financial acumen.
- Passionate, with a good attitude, driven, energetic, and committed to service excellence.
Qualifications
- Matric certificate.
- Relevant qualification.
- Must be computer literate (MS Office).
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong in functions and coordination.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee overall management, planning, and control of functions and kitchen operations, maintaining 5-star standards within budgetary limits.
- Manage all client events, quote on function requirements, and handle function bookings.
- Manage and report on function reservations.
- Monitor operations during service times.
- Assist in controlling production costs.
- Liaise with clients verbally and electronically.
- Assist the management team as required.
- Build and maintain customer and client relationships.
- Supervise and maintain quality and service at the highest level.
- Ensure control measures are in place for revenue, cash handling, stock control, and invoicing clients after functions.
- Handle debtors control and follow up on payments.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Assist in special projects.
- Take stock of food items when requested.
- Ensure smooth management of banqueting.
- Work overtime when requested.
- Ensure operations align with company standards.
